So I’ll be honest. I don’t get to do as many sessions in Rock Hill as I would like. Specifically, I don’t get to shoot as many Glencairn Garden maternity sessions as I’d like. I’d be lying if I said it was a hidden gem, because it’s ALWAYS crawling with photographers. Glencairn is such a popular location for photography in Rock Hill, SC and it’s easy to see why. This park has something for everyone to love.
There’s seriously a look for every type of session in this one park. Water fountains, wooden pathways, dirt trails, gorgeous flowers and wrought iron bridges. Maternity, high school seniors, engagements, family portraits, wedding parties – all different types of sessions can walk away from this park with gorgeous images.
No matter how many photographs I see taken at this park – there’s always a way to spin it and make it your own. No two photographers see this park with the same eyes and there’s beauty in that.
Narrowing Down the Options
When Pam and I were trying to decide on locations for her maternity session that fit her personal style and family’s vision – we completely skipped over this and went straight to some popular Charlotte parks. The more we chatted and talked about what she liked, the more I was drawn to this spot when finally I sent over a few images and she was sold! Bonus points that dad really had his heart on florals because this is their first little girl! WHY HADN’T I THOUGHT OF IT SOONER?
That’s water under the bridge now, but I will certainly say – I’m glad we put it on the table – because these photos are pure magic and mama did not disappoint. Going forward, Glencairn Garden maternity sessions are at the top of my list haha.
Want another perspective? Check out this winter maternity session at Glencairn. Glencairn not giving you the warm fuzzys? Don’t worry – I’ve got a whole list of locations that I’ve been dying to share. Check out my favorite location guide here.
